United Kingdom Donation Committee in 2018

The UK donation committee again fielded suggestions from colleagues for an organisation to support in 2018. The nomination that stood out the most was the Nightingale Centre at Wythenshawe Hospital, Europe’s first purpose-built breast cancer prevention centre. This cause is close to the hearts of many in the UK/Ireland office who have lost loved ones or have friends fighting this disease.

The Nightingale Centre is a state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment centre that also focuses on breast cancer research. The facility was specially designed with its patients in mind with its light and airy architecture.

This centre is also dedicated to addressing the shortage of breast cancer specialists by providing specialised training and conducts numerous research projects to better predict and prevent this disease.
