Medline’s New Site in Slovakia Passes BSI
24 th January 2022
In 2020, Medline began construction in Partizánske, Slovakia, on a 20,000 m2 manufacturing facility to support the company’s long-term expansion plans, increase our European footprint, expand sales into Eastern Europe and better address our customers’ needs by producing more products and solutions. Late last year, construction was completed.
To start off the new year and continue progress on this key project, BSI conducted an audit of the Partizánske facility on 12 and 13 January. We are pleased to share that the plant successfully passed the audit and is now on track for ISO 13485 certification, which guarantees quality and safety in the production of medical devices.
The next milestone in this project is the final official building approval process. This is starting now and will be followed by transferring production equipment from our current site in Bánovce to Partizánske. Production can begin as soon as this approval is granted, which is estimated to be the first week of March.
This project represents an investment of €24 million, including the building and 256,000 m2 of land, which allows for future expansion. The 10-year forecast indicates that this investment will generate about 300 new jobs in the local community in addition to the 200 people already employed.
